Responsibilities
  • COBRA
    • Provides administrative support for internal/external areas regarding COBRA laws, regulations, and procedures
    • Professionally handle telephone/email inquiries from COBRA participants
    • Ensure COBRA notices are mailed to plan participants and notify carriers of elections and terminations
  • Tracks all leaves associated with FMLA, Personal/Medical LOA, PDL, etc.
    • Determines eligibility and certification follows state and federal regulations
    • Determines benefits due and coordinates repayment during the leave
    • Certifies and tracks any other leaves available by law or company policy
    • Updates HRIS system during the leave cycle
    • Ensure timely communication with Regional Benefit Coordinator of benefits and employment status
  • Invoicing/Deposit Functions
    • Oversee the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of payment of administrative fees for all group vendors
    • Prepare weekly (if applicable) bank deposits of Leave of Absence, COBRA participant, Flex Spending Account reconciliation, etc. payments
    • Complete daily processing of Cigna wire for Cash department reconciliation
  • Participate in special projects related to payroll and benefits (i.e. Open Enrollment, Summary Plan Description updates, Missing Enrollments, Dependent Verification Audits, etc.)
  • Assist with 401(k) Retirement Plan tasks (ie: contribution rate changes, 401(k) wire processing, loan discrepancy reports)
  • Facilitate benefits orientations
  • Provide customer support to regional benefits and payroll coordinators
  • Process and maintain employee status reports to ensure HR File data integrity
  • Process and resolve vendor discrepancy reports
  • Coordinate benefit processing for all Long-Term Disability and Life claims
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with the capability of priority setting
  • Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
  • Computer proficiency the ability to use Microsoft products, emphasis on Excel
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs
  • Ability to understand, evaluate and resolve employee issues
  • Knowledge of benefits contract language
  • Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Social Security and DOL requirements.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Reliable and trustworthy with confidentiality information
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce HCM database is a plus
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
  • Three to five years of corporate employee benefits administration experience preferred
